Believe it or not I did it by watching a lot of movies and training even more jiu-jitsu. Yeah I moved to Brazil that's true, but I didn't speak ANY Portuguese before leaving for Rio. I didn't really know any jiu-jitsu either... So I had to learn them both, at the same time.
If you're a jiu-jitsu athlete, or instructor who is trying to learn Portuguese, the best way to do it IS THROUGH JIU-JITSU.
In this video I explain my system for learning Portuguese through BJJ training and how you can use the free BJJ Techniques in Portuguese instead of traditionally grammar books in order to learn a new language.
